Don't let the name fool you, this beautiful creature is a male. His elderly owner has recently become ill and will not be returning home to care for him. He is heartbroken as you can imagine he would be but he loves people and wants nothing more than to join a new family.
Sweetie is very friendly, enjoys the company of other dogs and does not seem to be fazed by all of the cats that we have in the shelter. He has been vaccinated, dewormed and has received advantage multi. We do know that Sweetie is older than what we thought and we know that he is deaf. There is no test that we could do to confirm this 100% but you can drop something right behind him and he would not notice. We know that adopting a senior dog is not for everyone but this guy has a life to live and a lot of love to give. We hope that he will find his new home soon.
If you have seen a before and after picture you would not say it is the same dog. We know that Sweetie has been to a groomer in the past because he was a pro while getting washed and dried. He stayed very still while he was being groomed and having his nails trimmed. We have an appointment for Sweetie to be neutered on the 25th of this month.
We do not have a lot of history on Sweetie but he has been very sweet and social while here at the shelter and those that do know him had great things to say about him. We do know that he knows how to sit and does like treats. He did have free roam of his house but we do not think that he has lived with children before but from what we have leaned about him he will do amazing in a home with children as he is so gentle.
