Cooper is coming to us from the SPCA Baccalieu Trail and he should arrive at the shelter by Tuesday, August 13. He is described as a chocolate lab mix, approximately 65-70 lbs, 1.5 years old, neutered, vaccinated, and flea treated. Cooper has also been micro-chipped! Baccalieu Trail and his foster homes have done everything they could to help him get prepaired for a new home.
As Baccalieu Trail SPCA does not have a shelter just yet, Cooper has been spending time with foster families. This is a great short term solution but we know that Cooper wants nothing more than a family to call his own.
Cooper is high energy and very strong so a home without children and no other pets is best for him. Training is going well for Cooper and it will need to be kept up by his new family. Cooper does know how to sit, stay (while on leash still) and to give paw. Cooper is a pup at heart and needs room to explore while his owner guides him right from wrong. He is not destructive and he is house trained as well.
A fenced backyard would be best for Cooper so that you can enjoy play time through out the day. We would also recommend daily walks as well. A tired dog is a happy dog and exploring is a great way to bond with your pet.
