Meet Sam,

This handsome guy came to us looking for his owner as he was spotted outside in Catalina for the last little while. Sam is a neutered male which means that he has had an owner at some point in his life. His sweet personality always tells us that he was once a loved pet. We are unsure as to why Sam was found outside but we are happy that he was brought to us. A concerned neighbour noticed that there was something bothering Sam and he was brought to us for help.

Sam had a broken heel, there was no other option but to do a full leg amputation. He had emergency surgery last week and we must thank Martha Sweeting at Community Vet Hospital and her staff for giving him the best care. They fell in love with Sam as fast as we did.Sam now has 3 legs and he is doing AMAZING!!!! He is eating well, and he is using his litter box without much trouble. He is a lover of wet cat food. Sam has a huge spirit and we do not think that this surgery will keep him from enjoying his life.

Sam is looking for a home that will understand that being different is a blessing. He needs a home that will give him time to adjust and a home that will love him like he is. Sam will need to stay away from stairs for a while, as well as limited jumping and play. He is still in the recovery stages but do not be fooled, he has a long and happy life to live. Along with surgery he has received a flea treatment, vaccine, and de-wormer.

We are not sure how Sam would do with other animals and we think that he would do well in a home as the only pet. We do not want to place him with young children as he has times when he is still trying to figure out his way around. We are looking for a home with children 13 and up. We are not sharing photos on this post of Sam’s surgery as it may be hard to look at for some. If you would like to see how he is doing, please take a look in the comments for a photo.
