Meet Bear!
He was here before and posted as “Big Bear” but unfortunately, he has returned. We will be looking for a different type of home for him this time. Bear is a Malamute Mix and he is 2.5 years old. He is very tall on his legs and about 100lbs now for sure! Shelter staff love Bear because of how sooky he is!!!
Someone with experience with very large breed dogs is a MUST! We think a large fenced in yard or large property to run would be great for him. Bear really needs someone that has the time and knowledge to spend with him to work through some behavioural issues. He needs to learn some long overdue manners like not stealing things from the counters and walking better on a leash. He will need lots of one-on-one time to learn these things. Kennel training would be beneficial for him when left home alone.
Bear is full of energy and loves to be walked and go for car rides. He will need regular walks and mental stimulation to keep him happy. Bear is a gentle giant and his previous owners could not express how much he like to be snuggled, hugged and kissed. He is such a sweet boy and we think the perfect home is out there for him.
This time we will NOT be placing him in a home with any other dogs, NO young children and NO cats. Bear does interact great with other dogs so taking him to dog parks and doggie play dates would be fine! He is already NEUTERED, given two interceptor deworming and two DA2PP vaccines.
