DO TO AN OVERWHELMING RESPONSE TO RILEY, WE ARE NO LONGER TAKING ANYMORE APPLICATIONS WHILE WE TRY TO PROCESS THE ONES WE HAVE CURRENTLY RECEIVED. THANK-YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR INTEREST!
Riley just arrived at our shelter after his owner had passed away. Noone in the family could keep him, so they reached out to us to help find this boy some permanent digs. Riley is less than a year old, and is some type of Labrador/Collie cross who will need to be neutered. He's high on his legs and still needs to fill into his body a little more! Riley was recently staying in a home with a cat and just adored playing with his new buddy, so a home with dog-savvy cats would be awesome - perhaps a playful older kitten who can hold their own when playing with this big boy. We are unsure if Riley has been introduced to other dogs, but doesn't seem to mind walking by them at the shelter. Riley is great with children! He is a big boy who likes to only have 2 feet on the ground sometimes, so we would like to place him with older children if any. Because Riley is still a puppy, he still has some things to learn. His leash manners are lacking and will need to be taught how to walk along side of you and not pull. His "sit" command is on point and listens to it very well, and the same with "paw"! The rest will be a work in progress. He still has a scattered accident inside, but being such a smart boy it won't be long for him to nail that down too!
Being a young, large breed dog, Riley is going to need an active home! Someone who can get him out for daily walks around the block, maybe daycare on those long days when you have to work extra hours, and weekend hikes in the trails with you! He's got "best friend" written all over him, just look at his face! He is ready for whatever you are. You say "jump" and Riley will ask "how high?!"
If you're looking for a new adventure buddy, consider adopting Riley!
