If you've visited our shelter in the last 9 months, you'll probably recogize this precious face. If you haven't, meet Ally.
Ally came to us last August, but was not available for adoption. She was on hold due a pending court case where we were not sure if she would ever be ours to adopt out into a loving home, or have to return to her previous owners. We received great news recently - Ally is now offically ours and she is FINALLY available for adoption! We know that many people have been interested in adopting Ally, but she is a special dog that requires a special home. So please read all of her bio and requirements before applying to adopt her.
Ally has made our shelter her home for the last 9 months, putting a smile on our faces daily and reminding us of why we do what we do! She is a spectacular dog, but does have some quirks and requirements for her new home. Her major quirk is that she is extremely fearful of new people and strangers. She will completely freeze, and then hide behind whatever she can, or try to run the other direction if possible when approached by someone new. Once Ally gets to know someone, look out - this girl loves hard and plays hard! She is a true cuddle-bug and deserves to live the life of luxury in a new home. One where she is allowed on the couches, sleeps at the foot of your bed with you, gets all her favorite treats and gets to enjoy the little things in life, like hikes by the river and ample play time with her buds!
Ally has never met a dog that she hasn't been able to win over. Every single dog that she has met, she has become instant friends with. Her most recent, and closest bud is Goldie. They love to play outside together, hang out in the office and just chase each other around or lay next to one another. One we thing that we have noticed about Ally with other dogs, is that the other dog gives her confidence. Other dogs inable her to run, play, jump, bark (belive it or not) and just be a normal dog! For this reason, we want to place Ally in a home with another dog-friendly dog. One that enjoys play time, but also knows how to snuggle down for a snooze. Another bonus is that Ally is fantastic with cats. She doesn't chase or taunt them, but peacefully co-exists with them. Ally can spook when it comes to loud and unfamilar noises, so we are looking for a quiet home for her. She is great with kids, but we believe she will thrive the best in a child-free home. Also, due to her nervousness and "flight" reactions when put in an uncomfortable situation, we will require Ally's new home to have a fenced in yard for security purposes.
If you've made it all the way through this and think that you would make a good match for Ally, please apply below.
