This sweet girl has been at the shelter for 104 days and she is our longest resident. We are sharing her story today as we almost lost her a few weeks ago. Originally Holly was abandoned on the pole line in Terra Nova and was luckily brought in to the shelter by a passerby.
She has often been overlooked, like most black cat, and we can not understand why. Holly has adjusted very well to shelter life and the many visitors that come by. She arrived scared, shy, and a little unsure. Now Holly is a different cat. She is affectionate, social, and loves to spend time looking out the window in our office.
Holly has been spayed and we have to thank the staff at the Community Vet Hospital for that. We were given quite the scare just a few weeks back. Holly was in to get spayed and experienced great difficulty with the anesthetic. She was in great hands and the vet and staff ensured that Holly pulled through her surgery, we are forever grateful for the love our shelter animals are shown while in their care. Holly was brought to the shelter, when ready, and she wrapped in warm blankets to keep her temperature where it needed to be. We had volunteers do double shift that night as well to make sure that Holly was comfortable and warm throughout the night.
Now Ms. Holly is better than ever and is looking forward to finding her new forever family. She loves to spend time curled up on your lap and enjoys an afternoon nap next to the nearest window.
